This week we will be learning about some of the real superheroes within our community- Fire Fighters. Please follow click this link to complete the Oak Academy sessions over three days: Oak Academy

Session 1: To understand what a fire fighter does

In this set of lessons, we learn about what it means to be a firefighter. In this lesson with Miss Hughes we will learn about the role of a firefighter. We pay close attention to the mechanics of a fire engine and get creative by building one. Remember to label your fire engine so you know what parts it needs.

Session 2: To create an observational picture of a fire engine

In today's lesson we join Miss Sidenius in using a photo of a fire engine to help us create an observational picture. We will really focus on the key features of a fire engine, including the shapes and colours. To extend this lesson, you could think about why fire engines are so important for carrying out fire people's jobs.

Session 3: To recall the key features of a fire engine

In today’s lesson, we join Mrs Garrard to identify the key features of a fire engine. We will then use junk modelling resources to create a representation of a fire engine, including the key features that we have learned about.

Can you make a fire station role-play area at home?
